crumb, I can survive; I would give it to you! I like other people to be happy more than I like myself to be happy. In my comedy I talk mostly about race, the reason why is because most of the pain in my entire life I have ever felt has been with race. I hate insulting people, but as a child I saw segregation still very alive and well. Every Sunday when I went to church I was among the Black few or the only Black person and it was the same with school. I remember having a best friend who was White and going to a restaurant in Atlanta where everyone started staring at us and I felt fine, but he was uncomfortable and this memory has been embedded in my mind because I love people, all people! As a kid I went to a school with mixed races up until 6th grade. In 6th grade I went to a predominantly black school and was so shocked to see how popular the “N-word” was, and since my parents got me hooked on phonics I could read a whole lot better than my classmates which did not make you
